Karen L. Bricker
PORT ALLEGANY- Karen L. Bricker, 59, of N. Main St., passed away Saturday (June 3, 2017) in her home, surrounded by her family.
Born Nov. 7, 1957, in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of John A. and Beverly J. Turner Riale. On July 21, 1979, in Port Allegany, she married Jeffrey W. Bricker, who survives.
Karen was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 1975.
Mrs. Bricker was employed by the Port Allegany School District as a teacher’s aide for many years.
She attended the United Methodist Church of Port Allegany. She was a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association, and enjoyed working with the children at school. Karen was an avid gardener & outside holiday decorator. She loved the ocean and beach, but most of all she was a devoted mother to her children..
Surviving in addition to her husband, Jeffrey, are a daughter, Abbie A. Bricker and a son, Brock (Megan Race) Bricker both of Port Allegany; a twin sister, Sharon L. (Martin) Rosenswie of Port Allegany; two brothers, Randy J. “Wally” (Lorrie) Riale of Port Allegany, Todd M. (Lynn) Riale of Pittsburgh; ten nieces and nephews: Josh Rosenswie, Lacey Riale, Joshua and Molly Hardes, Brian Bricker, Elizabeth Zettlemoyer, Stella Riale, Wyatt, Luke and Zane Travis; and her beloved household companion, Gizmo.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday (Jun. 6, 2017) with the Rev. Randall Headley and Rev. Rusty Horning co-officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
