Joyce L. NELSON, 59, of Coudersport, PA, died Wednesday, February 28, 2018 in Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY.
Born November 25, 1958, in Okinawa, Japan, she was the daughter of John and Masako Tsuha Vannatter.
On November 22, 1973, in Coudersport, she married Richard C. Nelson, who survives.
She was employed by Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport as a nurse's aide and switchboard operator, and as a seamstrees by C&J Blouse Co.
Surviving besides her husband, Richard, are: five children, Richard C. (Rachel) Nelson, Jr. of Coudersport, Clayton Nelson of Coudersport, Kasandra Nelson of Shinglehouse, Emalee (Joseph) Boldt of Shinglehouse, and Garrett Nelson of Coudersport; 17 grandchildren; four siblings, Keiko (Robert) Sutton of Galeton, Robert (Cherie) Vannatter of Mills, James (Kathleen) Vannatter of Blossburg, and Jessie (Brandi Martin) Vannatter of Franklin, OH; ten nieces and six nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Ronnie J. Vannatter; a grandson, Skye W. Nelson; and a nephew, James "Jimmy" Vannatter, Jr.
Friends may call at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM, with a Memorial Service following at 2:00 PM. Pastor Harold Kiel and lay minister David Amidon will co-officiate.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
