Dr. Joseph E. Valastak
ROULETTE- Dr. Joseph E. Valastak, 93, of Maple St., passed away Sunday (Feb. 1, 2015) in Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.
Born July 18, 1921, in Tarentum, PA, he was a son of Joseph and Emily Stramy Valastak. On Aug. 20, 1983, in Port Allegany, he married Muriel Teuscher, who survives.
Dr. Joseph Valastak completed his BA degree at the Baptist Bible Seminary, Johnson City, NY, his MS in Divinity, along with MS and Doctorate in Theology, from Westmont College, Westmont, CA. He also taught at Westmont College for a number of years.
Joseph was a resident of the area for 6 years coming from Warren, PA. He was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Warren, PA.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Victoria A. (Michael) McMaster of Prescott, AZ; three grandchildren, a brother, Robert A. (Janet) Valastak of Boulder, CO; 2 sister-in-laws, Marion K. Doane of Roulette, and India G. Vale of Newark, DE; a brother-in-law, Robert L. Teuscher of Coudersport; 9 nephews and 3 nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jowin C. Valstak, and two brothers, Milan Valastak and Edwin Vale.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 7, 2015) in the First Baptist Church, Roulette, with Rev. Marty Montgomery, pastor, officiating.
Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
