John E. PUTMAN, 78, of Westfield, PA, formerly of Wellsboro, died Sunday, August 24, 2014 in his home. Born May 11, 1936, in Sunderlinville, PA, he was the son of Edwin and Doris Johnson Putman. He was the director of the SPCA in Wellsboro for many years. John was an accomplished country musician and songwriter. Surviving are: two sons, C. John "Goog" (Amanda) Putman of Ulysses, PA and John E. Putman, Jr. of Apache Junction, AZ; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; a brother, William L. (Jane) Putman, Sr. of Westfield; a sister, Donna M. Abbey of Westfield; nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation or service. Memorials may be made to any animal care sanctuary.
