Jarrid L. MATTESON, 36, of Wellsville, NY, died Wednesday, November 16, 2022 in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester.
Born January 15, 1986, in Wellsville, he was the son of Brian and Tammy Waters Matteson. A 2005 graduate of Wellsville High School, he attended Corning Community College for Fire EMS. On October 22, 2016, in Wellsville, he married Katie L. Williams, who survives. He was employed by Kmart, L.C. Whitford, Bokman of Wellsville, several local farms, Track Rescue, MTS, and as a painter at Concrete Mixer Supply of Olean. Jarrid was a member of Wellsville Volunteer Fire Company, serving in numerous positions and currently the captain of the fire department, Wellsville Volunteer Ambulance Corps where he served as chairman, and attended Crosstown Alliance Church. The fire department was a large part of Jarrid’s life. He owned and operated Jarrid’s Woodworking.
Surviving besides his wife, Katie, are: two daughters, Mya and Gracie; his parents, Brian and Tammy Matteson of Wellsville; paternal grandparents, Marion and Mary Matteson of Wellsville; maternal grandfather, Paul Waters of Andover; a sister, Brianna (Eric) Jordan of Plymouth, MA; two brothers, Bret (Erica) Matteson of Whitesville and Scott (Wendy) Lanphier of Scio; his mother-in-law, Lora Williams of Wellsville; many aunts and uncles; a niece, Aubrey; three nephews, Holden, Landen, and Andrew; and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Sarah Waters; and three uncles, Alan Matteson, Scott Matteson, and Stanley Weinhauer.
Friends may call Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Cremation, Crowell Chapel, 296 North Main Street, Wellsville, NY. A party for Jarrid will follow at the Willing Town Hall at 3:00 PM.
