James Martin SMITH, 65, of Emporium, PA, died Tuesday, July 19, 2022 in his home.
Born March 7, 1957, in St. Marys, he was the son of Martin Henry and Gertrude A. Gibbs Smith. On February 14, 2000, in Emporium, he married the former Beverly Yohe, who survives. He was a self-employed contractor.
Surviving besides his wife, Bev, are: four children, Jennifer Marie Smith, James Martin (Dusti) Smith, Jr., Jason Michael Smith, and Jerica Ann Mitchell, all of Emporium; 12 grandchildren, Cain Martin Barr, Jordan Marie (Wes) Barr, Hannah Eve (Nate) Dempsey, Nina Lynn Barr, Kyle James Weissenstein, Gavin Thomas Weissenstein, Laila Rees Elizabeth Smith, Haley May Rees, Kierstyn Grace Smith, James Martin Smith, III, Brooklyn Marie Smith, and Pepper Quinn Goldsmith; a great-granddaughter, Cain Evelynn Jordan Dempsey; two sisters, Linda (Donald) Armstrong of Crescent, FL and Joyce (Glenn R., Jr.) Lyon of Emporium; two brothers, Thomas Smith of CA and Michael (April) Smith of Emporium; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Patricia J. Hunt.
A gathering to celebrate Jim’s life will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the Vets Club, 427 E. Third Street, Emporium, PA 15834 beginning at 1:00 PM.
