James W. Ostrander
ELDRED- James W. Ostrander, 53, of Canfield Hollow Rd., passed away unexpectedly Tuesday (June 14, 2022) in his home.
Born September 26, 1968, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Norman and Janet Spiegel Ostrander. On Aug. 15, 1998, in Eldred, he married Lisa M. Bair, who survives.
James was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 1986.
He was employed with Taylor & Armstrong Co. of Eldred, for over 28 years.
Jim was a member of the Sons of the Legion, Post 887, Eldred, a social member of the VFW, Post 2092, Eldred, and Moose Lodge 460, Port Allegany.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Lisa, is a son, Douglas L. (Stacey) Dickerson of Smethport; a daughter, Brandi L. (Dominique) Ellis of Selinsgrove, PA, four grandchildren: Maddox and Aubrey Dickerson, and Fitzgerald and Sylvia Ellis; two brothers, Jack Ostrander and Jeff (Elaine) Ostrander both of Port Allegany; two sisters, Norma and Janice Ostrander both of Port Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bradley Ostrander, baby sister, Susan Ostrander, and sister Diana Austin.
Friends will be received on Friday (Jun. 17, 2022) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lamphier Cemetery, Eldred.
Memorials can be made to the American Legion Post 887, Eldred, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
