James L. “Campy” Minard
RIXFORD- James L. “Campy” Minard, 70, of Looker Mountain Trail, passed away Friday (Aug. 16, 2013) in the Charles Cole Mem. Hospital, Coudersport.
Born March 10, 1943, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Ellery and Marie Jackson Minard. On June 11, 1966, in Port Allegany, he married Susan J. Goodrich, who survives.
Mr. Minard was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, Class of 1961.
James worked for Pittsburgh Corning Co., Port Allegany, for 35 years, before his retirement.
He was a member of the Rixford Evangelical Church, where he was a church deacon.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Susan, are a son, James L. (Jennifer) Minard, II, of Rixford; three daughters, Kimberly L. (Brian) Bond of Bradford, Lisa K, (Bear) Weimer of Ulysses, PA, Carrie S. (Jayson) Przybyla of Roulette; 8 grandchildren, two brothers, Orval E. (Rose) Minard of Muncie, IN, and Richard J. (Carol) of Bradford; a sister, Nadine Paine of Perry, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Norma and Vivian Minard.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 22, 2013) with Rev. Norman Cox, pastor of the Rixford Evangelical Church, officiating. Burial will be in Annin Creek Cemetery, Turtlepoint.
Memorials can be made to the Rixford Evangelical Church or God’s Adventure Camp, Roulette.
