James W. MILLIRON, 89, of Warner Robins, GA, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 in Perry, GA. Born Aug 25, 1925, in Shippenville, PA, he was the son of James F. and Annie E. Clark Milliron. On June 23, 1946, in All Saints Episcopal Church, Brookland, PA, he married the former Elizabeth Maree Vaughan, who predeceased him on January 4, 1992. He enlisted in the United States Navy immediately after graduation from Genesee High School in Genesee PA. In 1943 Jim became a heavy equipment operator in the Pacific with the Seabees until the end of WWII. He graduated from the State Teachers College at Cortland NY, He then taught Health and Physical Education in Elkland PA until taking a job with the VA domiciliary in Bath NY. In 1956 Jim went to work with the US Air Force, first at Wheelus AFB in Tripoli, Libya, the Wiesbaden AFB in Germany and finally at Robins AFB, where he retired as Chief of MWR in 1980. Surviving are: a son, James S. Milliron of Warner Robins, GA, two daughters, Randi Smith of Gulfport MS and Marty Teagle of Warner Robins, GA; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph F. Milliron of Tucson, AZ, and Thomas W. Milliron of Horseheads, NY; nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a sister, Louise M. Carpenter. A graveside committal service will follow at 11:30 AM in Genesee Cemetery, Genesee, PA, with Pastor Robert Walters officiating.
