James G. KOCHER, 80, of Ulysses, PA, died Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in his home. Born September 28, 1934, in Ulysses, he was the son of J. Glenn and Marcella Gamble Kocher. On July 31, 1980, in Fairfax, VA, he married the former Doris Frank Ward, who predeceased him on August 5, 2003. A 1953 graduate of Ulysses High School, he was employed by Ford Motor Co. in Buffalo, NY, Air Preheater in Wellsville, NY, Ingersoll-Rand in Painted Post, NY, Mayflower, and Furniture Moving System in Chicago, Paramus, NJ, and Washington, DC. He owned Kocher Enterprise in Fairfax, VA and retired from Xerox in 1990. Jim was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Centerville, VA, All Saints Episcopal Church, Brookland, PA, Lewisville Lodge #556 in Ulysses, Coudersport Consistory, the Shrine and Elks in Fairfax, VA. Surviving are: four children, James G. (Mary) Kocher, III of Morganville, NJ, Kevin Kocher of Bel Aire, KS, Newell (Jen) Kocher of New River, AZ, and Linda (Ron) Bennett of Montrose, WV; three step-children, Tom Ward of Ulysses, Jackie (Tim) Taylor of Nags Head, NC, and Diane Ward of Kitty Hawk, NC; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; long-time companion, Carol Kimberlin of Ulysses; a brother, Benjamin (Carole) Kocher of Clarks Summit, PA; two sisters, Martha Perkins and Sarah (Curtis) Sorem, both of Sun City West, AZ; an aunt, Ruth Gamble of Ulysses; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Rachel Crispell. Friends may call Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA, where Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Janis Yskamp will officiate. A Masonic Service will be held 3:30 PM Sunday in the funeral home.
