Jackson H. Manning
PORT ALLEGANY- Jackson H. Manning, 40, of N. Main St., passed away unexpectedly Monday (June 25, 2018) in his residence.
Born August 17, 1977, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Gail J. and Alta Hardes Manning.
Jackson was a self-employed logger who worked for Patterson Logging Co. of Galeton, and later with Wayne Paving Co. of Shinglehouse and Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. of Turtlpoint.
He enjoyed being in the outdoors with his children and playing cards. He was also an avid dart and softball player.
Surviving in addition to his mother, Alta Manning of Shinglehouse, and longtime companion, Ashley Gustin of Port Allegany, are a daughter, Makenna A. Manning of Port Allegany; two stepsons, Devin M. and Gavin R. Gustin both of Port Allegany; a brother, David P. (Darlene) Manning of Port Allegany; four sisters, Crystal S. (William) Loucks and Michele M. Amell both of Port Allegany, Ruth Ann Mix of Brooksville, FL, and Jamie Olmsted of New York.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gail.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
