Iva J. AUSTIN

Iva J. AUSTIN, 89, of Coudersport, PA, died Tuesday, August 5, 2014 in her home. Born February 8, 1925, in Coudersport, PA, she was the daughter of Mart and Helen Pelchy Matteson. On July 4, 1942, in Coudersport, she married Russell Raymond Austin, who predeceased her on November 7, 1989. Iva and her husband served as managers of American Legion Potter Post #192 in Coudersport and the National Hotel in Coudersport. Surviving are: a daughter, Linda L. Bevan of Coudersport; two sons, Raymond (Dana) Austin of Vinatta, OK and Jerry (Diane) Austin of Shelby, NC; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Marion (Mary) Matteson of Wellsville, NY; and two sisters, Agnes Currier and Phyllis Denhoff, both of Wellsville, NY. In addition to her husband, Russell, she was predeceased by a son-in-law, James Y. Bevan; three brothers, Orville Matteson, Alva Matteson, and Ernest N. Matteson; and a sister, Mildred Watson. A private memorial service will be held at the family home. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery at Five Corners in Hebron. Memorials may be made to the Coudersport Volunteer Ambulance, 122 E.
