Irva M. Blauvelt
ROULETTE- Irva M. Blauvelt, 82, of Fishing Creek Rd., passed away Sunday (Dec. 4, 2011) in Charles Cole Mem. Hosptial, Coudersport.
Born April 25, 1929, in Roulette, PA, she was a daughter of Irving and Clasa Tauscher Stilwell. On Aug. 2, 1952, in Roulette, she married William A. Blauvelt, who died Apr. 28. 1991.
Mrs. Blauvelt was an elementary teacher in both the Roulette School District and Port Allegany School District for over 40 years, retiring in 1994.
She was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of the Roulette High School, Class of 1947. She received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Mansfield State University, Mansfield, PA, and did graduate work at St. Bonaventure University, Olean, NY.
She was a member of the Riverside Methodist Church of Roulette, PSEA-Penn. State Education Association, PSERS-Penn. State Employee Retirement System, and Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 460, Port Allegany.
Surviving are two sons, Brian T. (Nancy) Blauvelt of Reliance, WY, and Bradley M. (Laurie) Blauvelt of Port Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William, and two sisters, Marie Eckert and Wilma Greenhill.
There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 10, 2011) in Riverside Methodist Church, Roulette. Burial will be in Fishing Creek Cemetery, Roulette.
