Hunter J. Whitney
PORT ALLEGANY- Hunter J. Whitney, 18, of Route 6, passed away Sunday (Sept. 12, 2021) as a result of injuries sustained from an automobile accident, on Route 66, Marienville, PA.
Born June 25, 2003, in Coudersport, PA, he was the son of Timothy C. and Paula S. Card Whitney.
He was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 2021. He was attending Slippery Rock University, Slippery Rock, PA, majoring in Kinesiology. He dedicated his life towards healthy diet and exercise.
He attended the First Church of God, Eldred, and Believers Chapel, Olean, NY.
He enjoyed sports: football, soccer, track, wrestling, shooting trap, and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. He enjoyed music and was a member of the Port Allegany choir, chamber singers, and was involved with spring musicals. What he enjoyed most was spending time with his friends and family.
Surviving are his father, Timothy C. (Lesli) Whitney of Eldred, mother, Paula S. Whitney of Port Allegany, paternal grandmother, Marie Welch of Eldred, maternal grandmother, Nannette (Russell) Walls of Escatawpa, MS, step-paternal grandparents, Howard and Betty. Linderman of Hinsdale, NY; two sisters, Kylie Donovan of Port Allegany, and Gracee Donovan of Smethport; 6 aunts: Tami Lapp of Olean, NY, Mona Teclaw of Port Allegany, Michelle Robinson of Katy, TX, Vicki Kerr of Eldred, Sharon Gleason of Portville, NY, Marci Whitney of Mesa, AZ; 3 uncles: Ray Card of Port Allegany, John Bennett of LaPort, TX, and Patrick Welch of Eldred; and several cousins.
A celebration of life will be held Friday (Sept. 17, 2021) from 5-8 p.m. in the Veteran’s Memorial Home, Port Allegany.
Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
