Howard C. Stuckey, Jr.
PORT ALLEGANY- Howard C. Stuckey, Jr., of Leesburg, FL, formerly of Roulette, passed away Saturday (Feb. 16, 2013) in the Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa, FL.
Born July 15, 1942, in Pleasant Valley Township, PA, he was a son of Howard C. and Lena M. Ohler Stuckey. On June, 3, 1961, in Roulette, he married Grace A. Kellogg, who survives.
Mr. Stuckey was a longtime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, Class of 1960.
He was a veteran having served with the US Army.
Howard’s career began with Pierce Glass Co. (Saint-Gobain Container Co.) which lasted 35 years. He was plant manager at Lincoln, IL, and most recently with the Port Allegany facility, from which he retired in 1999.
Howard enjoyed outdoor sports, fishing, hunting, and camping. He loved to travel. First and foremost, he was a family man who enjoyed attending sporting events and other activities in which his children and grandchildren participated. He enjoyed activities with friends in his retirement community of Pennbrooke Fairways.
He was a man who had faith in himself to accomplish his mission in life.
Surviving in addition to his mother, Lena and wife, Grace, are a son, Jeffery (Jill) Stuckey of Port Allegany; a daughter, Sharon (Ron) Daniels of Port Allegany; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a brother, Max (Genevieve) Stuckey of Roulette; a sister, Helen McCanna of Bradford; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother, Robert Stuckey.
Friends will be received from 4-6 p.m. Friday (Feb. 22, 2013) in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Hill Cemetery, Roulette.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the S.W. Smith Library, American Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
