Herman L. “Curly” Rennells
PORT ALLEGANY- Herman L. “Curly” Rennells, 68, of Baxter Rd., passed away unexpectedly Monday (June 14, 2021) in his home.
Born January 29, 1953, in Coudersport, he was a son of Robert and Lena Campbell Rennells. On Oct. 23, 1970, he married Janice M. Klein, who survives. They were married 50 years.
He was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 1970.
Mr. Rennells worked at the Kinney family farm while in high school, then with Vico Furniture Co., Eldred, Douglas Pipeline, Pittsburgh, and 30 years with Pittsburgh Corning Co., formerly of Port Allegany, before retiring.
He enjoyed coon hunting, farming, and working around his home, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Janice, are a daughter, Karmella K. Rennells of Eldred; three grandchildren: Janice Lindgren of Eldred, Levi Mahon of Smethport, Rikki Rennells of Port Allegany, two great-granddaughters; two brothers, Dale (Sheila) Rennells and Douglas (Laura) Rennells both of Buffalo, NY; three sisters, Tina McGee Rennells of Buffalo, NY, Cheryl Robinson and Pam Olmstead both of Port Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Joseph R. Rennells, a grandson, Wade L. Kio, and a sister, Jodi Omar.
A private funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (Jun. 19, 2021) at the Rennells residence, with Rev. James Kazimer, officiating. Burial will be in the Rennells Family Cemetery, Port Allegany.
Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
