H. Edward Hildebrandt, Jr.
PORT ALLEGANY- H. Edward Hildebrandt, Jr., 61, passed away Friday (Aug. 12, 2016) in his home, after a brief illness.
Born April 1, 1955, in Coudersport, he was a son of Herman E. and Dorothy Zinck Hildebrandt, Sr. On July 1, 1978, in Roulette, he married Lynn A. Harrison, who survives.
Edward had been employed as an advertising and sales representative for the Bradford Era, Olean Times and also the Potter Leader Enterprise.
He was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of the Port Allegany High School, class of 1973.
He coached community baseball league for 15 years, community soccer league for 5 years, and started and coached the youth basketball association for 9 years. He also enjoyed camping and hiking.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Lynn, are three sons, Ryan E. (Kate) Hildebrandt, Corey A. (Brandi) Hildebrandt, and Kyle A. (Merinda Lawrence) Hildebrandt, all of Port Allegany; five grandchildren: Noah, Lily, Charlotte, Brody, and Vincent; a sister, Sharon Dubots of Coudersport; 4 nieces and 3 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, LaVerta Treat.
Friends will be received from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 16, 2016) in the Riverside Methodist Church, Roulette, where a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. Randall Headley, pastor, officiating.
Memorials can be made to Teacher’s Pet Rescue, Coudersport, or the Riverside Methodist Church.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
