Gordon F. Dudley, Sr.
ROULETTE- Gordon F. Dudley, Sr. 89, of Third St. passed away Sunday (July 1, 2012) in his home.
Born September 14, 1922, in Port Allegany, he was a son of McCellan “Mac” and Ora Main Dudley. On Sept. 14, 1946, in Roulette, he married Marjorie L. Treat, who died Feb. 18, 2002.
He was employed by Ball Corp. of Port Allegany, as a machine operator, retiring in 1981. He also worked with the Fairview Cemetery for many years.
He was a veteran of WWII, having served with the US Army in the 558th Military Police Escort Guard.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Roulette. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving are three daughters, Marlene M. (Andre) Veilleux of Smethport, Mary Ellen Smith of Winter Haven, FL, and Elizabeth M. (Tom) Grossman of Roulette; a son, Gordon F. (Debbie) Dudley, Jr. of Laurel, IN; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marjorie, and two brothers, Kenneth and Charles Dudley.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday (July 4, 2012) with Rev. H.D. Youngblood, Jr. and Rev. Lynn Ostrander, co-officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
A military service will be conducted by the Port Allegany Honor Guard immediately following the funeral.
