Gloria Dawn Boyd McMANUS, 81, of Coudersport, PA, went to be with her heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 in her home.
Born December 23, 1936 in Coudersport, she was the daughter of Casper "Cap" and Beatrice Kio Boyd.
On September 20, 1955, in Wellsville, NY, she married Bernard "Mac" McManus, who predeceased her on December 13, 1996.
She was a 1954 graduate of Coudersport High School.
Dawn and her husband owned and operated Coudersport TV Cable Co., Roulette TV Cable Co., and Austin TV Cable Co. for 35 years. She was employed by Galeton Production for five years and by Cole Memorial Hospital for 17 years in the pharmacy department. After her retirement, she volunteered at the hospital.
Dawn was a member of Park United Methodist Church in Coudersport, and previously was active in the New Century Club, Potter County Snowmobile Club, Susquehannock Trail Club, and the Potter County Bird Club. Walking with friends, gardening, shopping, and going on bus trips brought her much enjoyment.
Dawn and her husband had three children, J. Todd (Lucia) McManus, Penny (John) Catalone, and Corry McManus. Penny died September 29, 1993 at age 30, leaving a daughter, Kami, age 8, who was then raised by Dawn and Mac. Corry passed away at age 21 in a car accident on January 24, 1992 while attending school in Middletown, PA. She is also survived by four granddaughters; a grandson; two brothers, Bill Boyd and John (Mary Kay) Boyd; nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, July 13, 2018 in Park United Methodist Church, Coudersport, PA. The Rev. Scott R. Ogden will officiate. Burial will be in Sweden Hill Cemetery.
