George R. Carr
PORT ALLEGANY- George R. Carr, 55, passed away Saturday (Sept. 30, 2017) in UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA.
Born November 29, 1961, in Blossburg, PA, he was a son of Robert L. and Geraldine O. Short Carr.
Mr. Carr had worked for Gideon Erectors of Smethport.
George was a longtime resident of the area.
Surviving in addition to his longtime companion, Jennifer J. Halleck of Port Allegany, are four sons, George R. Carr, Jr. of Williamsport, PA, Terrence J. Carr of Elkland, PA, Keith Carr of Addison, NY, Samuel P. Carr of Port Allegany; seven daughters, Tanya L. (George) Stuckey, Ada G. Carr, and Sara J. Carr all of Port Allegany, Melissa S. Carr of Olean, NY, Tara Carr and Tiffany L. Carr both of Elkland, PA, and Lena M. (Andrew) Lawton of Bradford; 33 grandchildren; three brothers, Kenneth Gamet of Turtlepoint, Russell (Heidi) Gamet of Port Allegany, Donald (Luann) Gamet of Oregon; three stepbrothers, Billy (Nancy) Stuckey of Elkland, PA, Robert Stuckey of Olean, NY, George (Tanya) Stuckey of Port Allegany; two sisters, Linda (Harrison) Fuller and Ada (Ted) Anthony both of Port Allegany; a stepsister, Julie McGee of Wellsboro, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Robert Stuckey, Sr., two brothers, Robert and Charlie Gamet, and two stepsisters, Lorna J. Moore and Roxie Gamet.
Friends will be received from 1-5 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 12, 2017) in the Veteran’s Memorial Home, Port Allegany, with a dinner to follow.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
