Gene P. VAN GORDEN, 80, of Ulysses, PA, died Thursday, August 20, 2015 in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY. Born September 23, 1934, in Lawrenceville, PA, he was the son of Thomas and Beatrice Stone Van Gorden. On December 17, 1960, in St. John's Episcopal Church, Westfield, PA, he married the former Anne L. Coover, who survives. A US Army Veteran, he served honorably from 1957 - 1958. He was employed by Dominion, Inc. for 42 years. Gene was a member of Bob's Sunoco Team for over 50 years in the Westfield Bowling League and a life member of the NRA. Surviving besides his wife, Anne, are: four children, Gene (Debra) Van Gorden, II of Middlebury Center, PA, Charles (Linda) Van Gorden of Westfield, MA, Brian (Lisa) Van Gorden of Port Allegany, and Julie (Richard) Vandecar of Solvang, CA; six grandchildren, Timothy Van Gorden, Abby (Wayne) Boka, Justin (Melissa) Van Gorden, Erika Van Gorden, Shannon (Brad) Stone, and David Stewart; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Fulginiti of Tucson, AZ and Sharon (Thomas) Smith of Lafayette Hill, PA; nieces and nephews. Friends may call Saturday, August 22, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA, where Funeral Services will be held on Sunday at 3:00 PM. The Rev. Duane Burdick will officiate. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded by members of the Potter County Honor Guard.
