Frederick J. HOPPE, 89, of Westfield, PA, died Tuesday, February 3, 2015 in his step-daughter's home in Harrison Valley. **********A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 9, 2015 in the West Pike Baptist Church. The Rev. John Prouty will officiate. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery, Galeton, PA.********** �½�½ Born February 5, 1925, in Carter Camp, PA, he was the son of Eugene and Phoebe Baker Hoppe. A World War II Veteran, he served honorably with US Army in the Pacific Theatre. He was employed by Sunnydale Farms, Ox Yoke Inn, Clymer Township, and the Tioga County Foster Grandparent program. Surviving are: five sons, Bernard Hoppe of Galeton, Manuel Hoppe of Woodhull, NY, Joel Hoppe of Pensacola, FL, Max Hoppe of Galeton, and Carl Hoppe of Westfield, PA; two daughters, Esther Phelps of Pensacola, FL and Diana George of Lackawaxen, PA; a step-son, Clayton Hurd of Mills, PA; two step-daughters, Melody Van Etten of Harrison Valley, PA and Carolyn Bozeman of Lake Placid, FL; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert G. Hoppe of Harrison Valley and Herman Hoppe of Stanley, VA; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Josephine Andaya Hoppe; his second wife, Tressa Rumsey Hurd Hoppe; and ten siblings. �½�½ Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
