Freda A. O’Neil
PORT ALLEGANY - Freda A. O’Neil, 93, passed away Tuesday (July 19, 2016) in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport.
Born November 24, 1922, in Hill City, PA, she was a daughter of I. Ralph and Dora Irwin Baker. On Oct. 14, 1950, in Oil City, PA, she married William O’Neil, who died in 1988.
Freda worked in housekeeping for many years with the Arlington Hotel, Oil City, PA, before her retirement.
Mrs. O’Neil spent much of her time between Oil City and Port Allegany, where her brother and nieces and nephews lived, who lovingly cared for her.
Surviving are a brother, Paul E. Baker of Port Allegany; a sister-in-law, Ruth Baker of Brookfield, OH; and several nieces and nephews: Theodore Baker and Stephen Baker, Suzanne Coard, Christine Weimer, Theresa Bicek, Barbara Lindsay, Yevonne Abeles, Larry Baker, Darlah Shugarts, Rick Bussard and Terry Bussard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William, two brothers, Arthur and Ralph Baker; and two sisters-in law, Phyllis Baker and Norma Bussard.
A private graveside service will be held at the Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens, Franklin, PA, at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
