Evelyn D. WHEATON, 90, of Ulysses, PA, died Sunday, August 31, 2014 in Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, PA. Born July 8, 1924, in Sweden Hill, Coudersport, PA, she was the daughter of Charles W. and Mary E. Senzel Wynick. A World War II Veteran, she served honorably with the US Army Nurse Corps. On September 4, 1954, in Harrison Valley, PA, she married Keith E. Wheaton, who predeceased her on November 20, 2009. She was employed as a nurse by Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport for many years. Evelyn was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Westfield. Surviving are: a daughter, Gwendelenetta S. Hurd of Elkland, PA; two sons, Larry E. Wheaton of Westfield and Jeffrey K. Wheaton of Clinton, IL; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles E. (Jeanette) Wynick and Kenneth J. (Virginia) Wynick, both of Harrison Valley; a sister, Arlene Haskins of Kissimmee, FL; a sister-in-law, Eileen Wynick of Westfield; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Jon R. Wheaton and Michael J. Wheaton; a brother, Clarence Wynick; and a sister, Clara White. A private graveside service will be held in Ulysses Cemetery.
