Evan Jordan ERWAY, 14, died unexpectedly on Monday, April 11, 2022. Evan was born on November 20, 2007, to parents Charles Wayne and Michele Lynette Freeman Erway.
Evan was an eighth-grade student at Northern Potter High School.
As a member of Headwaters FFA club he received his Discovery Degree. He was also an active member of both the Elm Valley Harvester and the Furry Friends 4-H clubs with projects including pack goats, and Havana rabbits. Evan was a member of the Wellsville Moose Teen Club and participated in the NYS Moose Convention.
Evan enjoyed the family trips to Disney World, and it was such a joy to witness his excitement as he met his favorite characters, especially Olaf. He would sing all the Disney songs ecstatically each night as he did his chores or rode in the car. He knew all the lyrics.
Evan was a proud member of the Buffalo Bills Mafia. There was only one team for him. Evan loved the holidays. Christmas was his favorite holiday and he often would beg to play Christmas music even in the heat of the summer at Aunt Judy’s Pond. Evan would have eaten pizza daily if given the choice with a giant smile on his face. He played many video games and loved to battle his bother Clifton at Fortnight. He enjoyed board games with his family and had a contagious laughter. He liked to say he was Grandma Angie’s present as they shared a birthday. Evan especially loved to cuddle with his dog Scooby.
Evan is survived by his parents, Charles and Michele of Genesee; a brother, Clifton Erway of Lima, OH; paternal grandparents, Wayne and Janet Erway of Genesee; maternal grandparents, Rick and Angela Freeman of Wellsville; great-grandmother, June Freeman of Andover; paternal aunts, Susan (Greg) Raylea, Marie (Steve) Ackley, and Judy (Phil) May; maternal aunts, Becky (Danielle) Freeman-Brauen and Amy (Marc) Roulo; and many great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins and friends who loved him.
