Eugene B. "Gene" LAMPHIER

Westfield, PA

Eugene B. “Gene” LAMPHIER, 84, of Westfield, PA, died Thursday, February 8, 2024 in UPMC Wellsboro, Soldier & Sailors Memorial Hospital.  


Born June 29, 1939, in Westfield, he was the son of Raymond and Katherine E. Hryczyk Lamphier.  On September 11, 1960, in Westfield, he married the former Sandra K. Cumberledge, who survives.  A 1957 graduate of Cowanesque Valley High School, he served honorably with the U.S. Army from 1962 – 1964.  He was employed by Ingersoll-Rand in Painted Post for six years and CNG in Ellisburg and Sabinsville for over 30 years.  Gene was a member of the American Legion.  He loved Ford cars and trucks, the outdoors, and his dogs.  His family was always his priority.  


Surviving besides his wife of 63 years, Sandra, are: two children, Terri (Marlon) Johnson of Westfield and Sheldon (John) Lamphier of  Manhattan Beach, CA; four grandchildren, Eric Johnson, Britney (Brad) Buffington, Dani Delaney, and Kendall Delaney; three siblings, Sandra (Dale) Cushing of Knoxville, Phyllis (Raymond Jr.) Kent of Elkland, and Richard (Deb) Lamphier of Caledonia, NY; nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother, Gary R. Lamphier.  


Friends may call at Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Crematory, Ulysses on Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM, with a Vigil Service following at 3:00 PM.  Burial will be in Champlin Cemetery, Westfield, where military rites will be accorded.  Cremation was at OLNEY-FOUST Private Crematory.
