PORT ALLEGANY- Emery D. Shores, 93, of Sartwell Creek Rd., passed away Saturday (Apr. 7, 2018) in UPMC Cole, Coudersport, surrounded by his loving family
Born in Salina, KS, on January 30, 1925, he was a son of Emery C. and Goldie Vermaus Shores.
Emery was a former maintenance foreman at the Bradford Regional Medical Center and a self-employed farmer in Coudersport, PA.
He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the US Navy.
On December 9, 1978, in Duke Center, PA, he married Carolyn K. Swift Burrell, who survives. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Carolyn K. Swift Burrell, children by marriage, Bradley Thomas of Arizona, John R. Burrell and wife Amanda of Wellsboro, PA, Judy A. Burrell of Newburg, PA, and three grandsons, Brandon, Alex, and Connor Burrell.
Private funeral and committal services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Rathbone Cemetery, Hebron Township.
Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
