Elwin S. "Jeff" JEFFERS, 86, of Ulysses, PA, died Friday, June 27, 2014 in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, PA. Born March 14, 1928, in North Bingham, PA, he was the son of Gaylord and Hazel Naylor Jeffers. On December 5, 1948, in Burns, NY, he married the former Mary A. White, who predeceased him on September 11, 2013. A self-employed carpenter, he also owned and operated Jeff's Fix It Shop in Ulysses for many years. He was a life member and past chief of the Tri-Town Volunteer Fire Company in Ulysses, scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop #530 in Ulysses, and a member of the Ulysses First Baptist Church. He was honored as Ulysses Citizen of the Year in 1992. Surviving are: three sons, Gene Jeffers of Sabinsville, PA, James Jeffers of Ulysses, and Gary Jeffers of Carlisle, PA; three daughters, Donna (Donald) Richardson of Monroeton, PA, Roxanne (Anthony) Tomak of Campbell, NY, and Lori (Kenneth) Risser of Ulysses; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathleen Bledsoe of Olean, NY and Alice Flynn of Galeton, PA; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by two daughters-in-law, Sandra Jeffers and Deborah Jeffers; a grandson, Philip G. Tomak; two brothers, Amer and Leland; and three sisters, Laura McClintock, Vivian Stiles, and Bonnie Jean Mattison. Friends may call Monday, June 30, 2014 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA, where Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Jason K. Reed will officiate. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.
