Elsie Mills EASTON

Elsie Mills EASTON, 95, of Ulysses, PA, died Monday, September 5, 2011 in her home. Born September 25, 1915, in Brookfield Township, PA, she was the daughter of William A. and Elvira McPeek Simmons. On November 18, 1935, in Westfield, PA, she married Adrian M. Mills, who predeceased her on September 7, 1983. On August 27, 1998, in Ulysses, PA, she married Marvin R. Easton, who predeceased her on October 20, 2005. A 1933 graduate of Westfield High School, she served as librarian of the Ulysses Library for many years. She was a member of the Ulysses Free Methodist Church and the Harrison-Ulysses-Genesee Senior Center. Surviving are: three sons, John (Barbara) Mills of Avoca, NY, James (Jackie) Mills of Westfield, PA, Terrance (Michelle) Mills of Ulysses; two daughters, Anna VanEtten of Ulysses and Dorothy (Wayne) Nelson of Shinglehouse, PA; a son-in-law, Robert C. Nelson of Mills, PA, 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two step-sons, Melvin (Jill) Easton and Rodney (Joan) Easton, both of Genesee, PA; a sister, Alice Jean Wood of Coudersport, PA; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, she was predeceased by a daughter, Wilma Nelson; a grandson, W. John VanEtten; a son-in-law, William VanEtten; two brothers, Ivan Simmons and Elon B. Simmons; and a sister, Emma Hughes. Friends may call Thursday, September 8, 2011 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday in the Ulysses Free Methodist Church. The Rev. Brad J. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.
