Ellen L. HANES

Ellen L. HANES, 79, of Genesee, PA, died Tuesday, August 31, 2021 in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport.

Born September 28, 1941, in Reynoldsville, she was the daughter of Jack and Lucy Baun Uber.  On April 2, 1960, in Whitesville, NY, she married Warren L. “Gabe” Hanes, who survives.   Ellen was employed by American Novelty in Wellsville and Ulysses Woodcraft.  She devoted her life to caring for her husband and children.

Surviving besides her husband, Gabe, are:  five children, Patricia (Gene) Seidel of Auburn, PA, Nancy (Richard) Waters of Whitesville, NY, Warren (Maureen) Hanes, Jr. of Genesee, Tammy (Jesse) Snyder of Genesee, and Cora (George “Ed”) Gehret of Genesee;  11 grandchildren;  23 great-grandchildren;  five siblings, Lillian Skillman, Kathy Uber, Charles Uber, and Robert Uber, and Howard Uber;  nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by six siblings.

A private graveside service will be held in Parker Hill Cemetery.
