Belmont, NY - Ella C. Pierce of Nobel Street passed away on Wednesday February 3, 2010 at the home of her daughter in Orlando, Florida. She was born on November 5, 1916 in Belmont to Frederick and Nora Cole Canfield. On October 31, 1936 in Angelica she married Lyle C. Pierce who predeceased her on August 5, 2006.
Ella graduated from Belmont Central High School. Along with her husband Lyle they owned and operated a Packard Dealership in both Belmont and Wellsville. Ella maintained her long time home on Nobel Street and was a life long member of the First Baptist Church in Belmont.
Ella is survived by: a son Karl F. Pierce to of Hornell; two daughters, Jeanne (Tage) Nielsen of Spencerport and Linda (Ronald) Bigelow of Orlando, FL.; A granddaughter, Dianne Mead; 4 grandsons, Richard Pierce, Kirk (Kathleen) Nielsen, Karl (Stephanie) Nielsen and Steven Bigelow; 6 great grandchildren, Alexander and Erik Nielsen, Katherine and David Nielsen, Jessica and Shane Mead.
She was predeceased by 5 brothers, Wallace, Willis, Westly, Walter and Wilton Canfield.
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday February 9, 2010 fro 7-9 pm in the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Belmont. Her funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 10 am in the funeral home with Rev. Kenneth Miller presiding. Burial will take place in Forest Hills Cemetery and memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Belmont.
