Eleanor R. COATS

Eleanor R. COATS, 91, of Wellsville, NY, died Thursday, October 14, 2021 in the Comfort House of Allegany County, Wellsville.

Born November 6, 1929, in Wellsville, she was the daughter of George and Eva Weber Lynn.  On May 3, 1947, in Wellsville, she married Jack T. Coats, who predeceased her on May 29, 1989, after 42 years of marriage.  A graduate of Wellsville High School, she was employed by the Department of Motor Vehicles in Belmont until her retirement.

Surviving are:  three sons, Eldyn “Skip” (Sue) Coats of Milton, FL, Dan Coats of Wellsville, and Dennis Coats of Panama City Beach, FL;  a daughter, Lori (John) Acker of Wellsville;  a daughter-in-law, Jody Coats of North Cohocton;  seven grandchildren;  12 great-grandchildren;  two sisters, Carla Fisher of St. Clair Shores, MI and Kay Croley of Wellsville;  several nieces and nephews, including a niece that Jack and Eleanor raised, Helen Orvis of Wellsville.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two daughters, Melanie Folts and Susan Coats;  a son, David M. Coats;  a brother, Richard Lynn;  a sister, Hazel Willard;  and a great-grand daughter, Tiffany King.

Friends may call at Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Cremation, Crowell Chapel, 296 North Main Street, Wellsville, NY on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 12:00 – 1:00 PM, with Funeral Services following at 1:00 PM.  Rev. Daniel Kenyon will officiate.  Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellsville.
