Duane E. VanZile
ROULETTE- Duane E. VanZile, 85, of Second St., passed away Tuesday (Oct. 5, 2021) in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.
Born May 25, 1936, in Roulette, he was a son of Bernard V. and Hazel Nichols VanZile. On March 8, 1958, in Roulette, he married Barbara A. Andrews, who survives. They were married 63 years.
Duane was a longtime resident of the area and a graduate of Roulette High School, class of 1954.
He was a veteran of the Viet Nam War, having served with the US Airforce, for over 20 years. He was with administrative intelligence, before retiring.
He loved working on cars & building things. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Barbara, are a son, Michael D. (Valerie) VanZile of Stark, FL; three daughters, Carol F. VanZile of Canonsburg, PA, K. Sue (Donald) Doan of Port Byron, NY, and Lynn E. Bieda of Canonsburg, PA; three grandchildren; Duane and Crystal VanZile, Tyler Doan; and a great-grandchild, Claude VanZile and two sisters, Aleta Menge of Ocala. FL, Vicki Ouellette of Coudersport; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Raoul VanZile.
At Duane’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
Memorials can be made to the Roulette Fire Department.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
