Duane A. Miller
PORT ALLEGANY- Duane A. Miller, 45, of Gleason Hollow, passed away unexpectedly Monday (May 28, 2012) in the Charles Cole Mem. Hospital, Coudersport.
Born March 17, 1967, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Harold and Betty Trimm Miller. On July 24, 1990, in Smethport, PA, he married Michelle L. Graves, who survives.
Mr. Miller was a self-employed artist, had been employed by the Port Citgo, and most recently had worked for Simmon of Bolivar as an oil well driller.
He attended Port Allegany High School, graduated from the International School of Arts, Scranton, PA, and also received a master art degree from ICS.
He was a lifetime resident of the area and a member of Sons of the Legion, Post 258, Port Allegany, Coon Hunting Association, and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and gardening. He also traveled with the Arbor Day Foundation planting trees in several states.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Michelle, are his parents, Harold and Betty Miller of Morgantown, KY; two sons, Codie A. Miller of Bradford, and Duane A. Miller, Jr. of Lewis Run, PA; a granddaughter and a grandson; and four sisters, Rose M. (Nick) Sandoval of Morgantown, KY, Ramona L. (Chris) Thomas of Port Allegany, Dawn S. Miller of Eldred, and Bernadine K. (Jim) Gallentine of Hazel Hurst, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday (Jun. 1, 2012) with Rev. Eugene VanGorder, officiating. Burial will be in Brookfield Cemetery, Westfield, PA.
