Doris E. THOMPSON, 88, of Collins Personal Care Home, Elkland, PA, formerly of Ulysses, PA, died Monday, March 14, 2016 in her son's home in Genesee, PA.
Born September 8, 1927, in Brookfield, PA, she was the daughter of Laurence and Flossie Allen Hunt.
She was a 1945 graduate of Westfield High School.
On December 1, 1946, in Ulysses, she married Robert L. "Tink" Thompson, who predeceased her on November 19, 2009.
Doris was a member of the Ulysses United Methodist Church, the UMW, and the Tri-Town Volunteer Firemen's Auxiliary.
Surviving are: three sons, Robert C. (Betsy) Thompson of Elkland, PA, Roy W. (Dollie) Thompson of Ulysses, and Dann H. (Roxan) Thompson of Genesee, PA; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Tom) Simmons of Rochester, NY; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a niece, Brenda (Howard) Baker of Westfield. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Pauline Potter and Arlene Ducey.
Friends may call Friday, March 18, 2016 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA, where Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Christine Mastin, Pastor Harold Kiel, and the Rev. Donald N. Miller will tri-officiate.
Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.
