Donna L. Jewart
PORT ALLEGANY- Donna L. Jewart, 90, of Pooler, GA, formerly of Port Allegany and Kane, PA, passed away Saturday (Mar. 31, 2018) peacefully in her sleep at home and welcomed into Heaven by many friends and family.
Born January 28, 1928, in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of Levin and Grace Phalon Larson. On Mar. 20, 1949, in Port Allegany, she married her high school sweetheart, Dale S. Jewart, who died Dec. 1, 2002. They were married 53 years.
She was a longtime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 1945.
Donna and her husband had owned and managed Western Auto stores in Kane and Port Allegany, before retirement.
Surviving are two sons, James D. (Ellen) Jewart of Worcester, MA, Robert C. (Melanie) Jewart of McMurray, PA; two daughters, Carol L. Vandeford of Loganville, GA, Marie D. Houben of Pooler, GA,; many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; a brother, Carlton A. (Shirley) Larson of Port Allegany; three sisters, Betty Redington of Jamestown, NY, Lois (Vern) Howe of McCormick, SC, Marjorie Burr of Smethport; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale, two brothers, Robert and John Larson; and a sister, Beverly L. Comes.
Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Friday and 9-11 a.m. Saturday (Apr. 7, 2018) in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, with Rev. Joann Piatko, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
