Dolores Jean Smithmyer
ROULETTE- Dolores Jean Smithmyer, 83, of Lanninger Creek Rd., passed away Monday (Oct. 18, 2021) in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.
Born July 24, 1938, in Altoona, PA, she was a daughter of Melvin F. and Lena E. Gesser Hesser.  She was formerly married to Leo G. Smithmyer.
She was employed with Spear Electronics, Bradford, and later owner & manager of Midtown Bar, Port Allegany, before her retirement.
Jean was a longtime resident of the area and a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, Port Allegany, and Catholic Women’s group.
She sold Avon products and was an avid Euchre player.
Surviving is a daughter, Dreda M. Smithmyer of Roulette; two sons, Lee S. Smithmyer of Kono, HI, Kirt W. Smithmyer of Port Allegany; four grandchildren, two great-grandsons; a brother, James D. (Janice) Hesser of Woodberry, NJ; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, George F. Smithmyer, a grandson, Travis Smithmyer, two brothers, Fred M. Hesser, Terry D. Hesser; and a sister, Shirley E. Hesser.
Friends will be received form 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 20, 2021) in the Veteran's Memorial Home, Port Allegany, where a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. J.T. Madison, pastor of the Evangelical Covenant Church, officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
