Wellsville, NY - David Shufelt, 59, of 825 Hunt Road died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 30, 2012 shortly after arrival at Jones Memorial Hospital. He was born March 31, 1953 in Sharon, CT the son of the late Alfred T. and Priscilla (Tabor) Shufelt.
David was a former resident of Dover Plains, La Grangeville and Greenwood. He had two passions, family and farming. He also enjoyed hunting, sports and having a good time. He will be most remembered for his willingness to offer a helping hand. He will be dearly missed by his three daughters and will forever be in the hearts of all who knew him.
He is survived by three daughters, Pennie M. (Colin) Burgess of Hyde Park, Jackie R. Shufelt of Rocky Mount, VA and Susie K. (Ricky) Ives of Wellsville, 4 grandchildren, two brothers, Sam and Tom Shufelt, his former wife, Mary Leigh Cocca of Canisteo as well as several nieces & nephews.
Friends are invited to call on Friday, January 4, 2013 from 12 noon to 1:00 pm at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc., 34 W. State Street in Wellsville. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home will Rev. Tom Kristoffersen presiding.
