David "Oatley" Haggard
PORT ALLEGANY- David "Oatley" Haggard, 33, of Parklane Dr., passed away Monday (Jun. 6, 2016) unexpectedly at his home.
Born August 24, 1982, in Coudersport, he was a son of David D. and Ilene Main Haggard.
David had been employed by C & S Lumber Co. of Roulette, before having to retire.
Mr. Haggard was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School and Seneca Highlands Career & Technical Center, class of 2001.
He was an avid outdoorsman.
Surviving in addition to his mother and stepfather, Ilene and Wayne Kamats of Emporium, stepmother, Brenda Haggard and maternal grandmother, Dorothy Main both of Port Allegany, are a daughter, Avanna C. Haggard of Port Allegany; longtime companion, Emily L. Kilgus, with who he resided; and a sister, Bonnie L. (Todd) VanSickles of Turtlepoint; s stepsister, Daniel Kelley of Roulette; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, David, two grandfathers, and a grandmother.
Friends will be received from 12 to 2 p.m. Thursday (Jun. 9, 2016) in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Rev. Michael Culver, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Portage Valley Cemetery, Wrights.
Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
