Wellsville - Darlene Mae Irish of Irish Avenue went to be with her Lord and Savior at home on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 4, 1934 in Alma to Elmer A. and Dorothy M. ( Jackson) Brownell Sr. On December 4, 1952 she married Cecil E. Irish who survives.

Darlene graduated from Wellsville High School in 1952. She was employed by Wellsville Central Schools as a baker where she retired after 17 years. Darlene devoted her time to caring for her home and family as well as reading and doing cross word puzzles. She was a member and served as an officer of the Shongo Country Chapel.

Surviving besides her husband are; a son, Cecil (Mary) Irish; 3 daughters, Vonda Frazier, Valerie ( Michael ) Macri and Darla (Pete Thorburn) Curtis; seven grandchildren, Jodi (John) Roney, CJ (Katie) Irish, Conner and Cooper Frazier, Danielle (William) Turk, Morgan and Rachel Curtis; 3 great grandchildren; a special niece Jeanna Brownell as well as several nieces and nephews.

Darlene was predeceased by her parents, a brother Elmer A. Brownell Jr. and a granddaughter Amanda Mae Irish

Friends are invited to call on Saturday, January 7, 2012, from 1 to 3 pm at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville. Her funeral will be held following the calling hours at 3 pm with Rev. Lewis Mericle presiding.
