Clayton W. Lamont
PORT ALLEGANY- Clayton W. Lamont, 68, of Roue 155 N, passed away Saturday (Oct. 30, 2021) in the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA.
Born January 24, 1953, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Thomas H. and Mary A. Kaziska Lamont. On August 20, 1983, in Smethport, he married Vivian L. Sherwood, who survives.
Clayton was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 1971.
He was employed with Pittsburgh Corning Co. of Port Allegany, as a mechanic, before having to retire.
He enjoyed his dogs, antique vehicles, and camping with his family. He also enjoyed playing card games with his family. He liked carpentry and remodeling, helping several friends with home projects.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Vivian, is a daughter, Rebecca A. Lamont of Port Allegany; a son, John “Web” Lamont of Port Allegany, and James R. Sherwood of Port Allegany; three grandchildren: Courtney R. Sherwood of Buffalo, NY, Briana N. Sherwood of Salamanca, NY, and Colton J. Sherwood of Port Allegany; two brothers, Thomas E. (Dorothy) Lamont of Port Allegany, Rodney M. (Cindy) Lamont of Warren, PA; and two sisters, Donna J. (Barry) Shaw of Portville, NY, Ella N. Himes of Emporium; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Michael A. Lamont.
At Clayton’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
