Charles E. WYNICK

Charles E. WYNICK, 89, of Harrison Valley, PA, died Saturday, April 11, 2015 in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, PA. Born March 27, 1926, in Sweden Hill, PA, he was the son of Charles W. and Mary E. Senzel Wynick. On June 25, 1948, in Harrison Valley, he married the former H. Jeanette Whitmire, who survives. A 1942 graduate of Harrison Valley High School, he served honorably with the US Army in World War II from 1944 - 1946. He served in the horse cavalry in the China-Burma-India theatre and was discharged as a sergeant. He was employed by Eberle Tannery in Westfield for 20 years and Dresser-Rand in Wellsville, NY for 22 years. Charles was a member of Gerald G. Griffin American Legion Post #519 in Westfield, Lewisville Lodge #556 in Ulysses, and the Coudersport Consistory. Surviving besides his wife, Jeanette, are: two sons, Wayne (Pamela) Wynick of Clearfield, PA and Gerald (Iris) Wynick of Harrison Valley; five granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth J. (Virginia) Wynick of Harrison Valley; a sister, Arlene Haskins of Kissimmee, FL; a sister-in-law, Eileen Wynick of Westfield; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Clarence Wynick; and two sisters, Clara White and Evelyn Wheaton. The family will hold private services at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA on Saturday, April 18, 2015. The Rev.
