Charles J. GERNER, 84, of Coudersport, PA, died Wednesday, November 16, 2016 in Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.
Born September 5, 1932, in Boyers, PA, he was the son of Ernest and Margaret Hovis Gerner.
On November 24, 1951, in Woodstock, VA, he married the former Ruth Rodgers, who survives.
A graduate of Bruin High School, he was employed by West Penn Power Co. for 17 years.
He owned and operated Gerner Electric and Coudersport Precast for many years.
Surviving besides his wife, Ruth, are: six children, Terance (Anne) Gerner, Paul (Nancy) Gerner, Kathleen (Mark) Jackson, Richard (Diane) Gerner, Steven (Nila) Gerner, and George (Debbie) Gerner; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Leroy Gerner of Butler, PA; two sisters, Dolores Burlett of Fair Oaks, PA and Loretta (Russell) Slater of Butler, PA; nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Park United Methodist Church, Coudersport, PA on Saturday, November 26, 2016 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM, with a Memorial Service following at 2:00 PM. The Rev. Scott Ogden will officiate.
