PORT ALLEGANY- Carlton A. Larson, 88, of Ann St., passed away Saturday (Apr. 7, 2018) in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.
Born September 12, 1929, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Levin and Grace Phalon Larson.  On July 8, 1950, in Port Allegany, he married Shirley A. Hanlon, who survives. They were married 67 years.
Carlton was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 1948.
Mr. Larson was a self-employed barber owning and operating Carlie’s Barber Shop for 63 years, retiring in 2013.
He was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church of Port Allegany, where he was church treasurer and member of the church choir, for several years.  He was a member of F.& A.M. Liberty Lodge 505, Port Allegany, where he was Past Master, secretary for several years, and 50-year member, member of Coudersport Consistory and Arnold Royal Arch, Chapter 254, Port Allegany. He was a member of the board of directors of the former Citizens Trust Co., Coudersport, and Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 460, Port Allegany.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Shirley, are two sons, Nathan J. (Bonnie) Larson of Akron, OH, Paul A. Larson of Orchard Park, NY: 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren;  three sisters, Betty Redington of Jamestown, NY, Lois (Vern) Howe of McCormack, SC, Marjorie Burr of Smethport; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Robert and John Larson; and two sisters, Beverly Comes and most recently Donna Jewart, who died Mar. 31, 2018.
Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Friday and 9-11 a.m. Saturday (Apr. 14, 2018) in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port. Allegany. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Port Allegany, with Rev. Brian Moran, officiating.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
A masonic service will be conducted by Liberty Lodge 505, Friday at 7 p.m. in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
Memorials can be made to the Gethsemane Lutheran Church or Liberty Lodge 505.
