Bruce G. Baker
ROULETTE- Bruce G. Baker, 93, of Card Creek Rd., passed away Friday (Aug. 4, 2017) in Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.
Born November 13, 1923, in Roulette Township, PA, he was a son of Fred N. and Hattie Marschner Baker. On June 25, 1947, in Limestone, NY, he married Tillie M. Pransky, who survives.
He was a lifetime resident of the area and attended Roulette High School.
He was a member of the Riverside Methodist Church, Roulette, where he was a past trustee, member of F. & A.M. Liberty Lodge 505, Port Allegany, and Coudersport Consistory, where he was active in the Passion Play for several years.
Bruce had been employed by North Penn Gas Co., and retired in 1986, with over 35 years of service.
Mr. Baker was a veteran of WWII, having served with the US Army, and recipient of the Purple Heart, during the Battle of the Bulge.
Surviving in addition to his wife Tillie, he is survived by a son, Dennis G. (Netra) Baker of Roulette; two daughters, Kristine B. (Frank) Zitnik of Roulette, and Sandra J. (Jack) Goga of State College, PA; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers: Howard, Ronald, Kenneth, Wesley, Robert and C. Bernard Baker; and a sister, Ruth Palmatier.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 9, 2017) in the Riverside Methodist Church, Roulette, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. Ben Zimmerman, pastor, and Rev. J.T. Madison, pastor of the Evangelical Covenant Church, Port Allegany, co-officiating. Burial will be in Card Creek Cemetery, Roulette.
A military service will be conducted immediately following the service at the church.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
