Beverly L. Comes
SMETHPORT- Beverly L. Comes, 74, of Irish Hollow Rd., passed away Wednesday (Dec. 26, 2012) in Sena Kean Manor.
Born March 8, 1938, in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of Levin and Grace Phalon Larson. On Oct. 20, 1956, she married Richard D. Bosworth, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 27, 1982, in Smethport, she married Paul D. Comes, who survives.
Mrs. Comes was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, Class of 1956.
She was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church of Smethport. She enjoyed volunteering at Sena Kean Manor with her husband, for several years.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Paul, are three sons, Bruce R.T. (Brenda) Bosworth and Richard L. (Cindy) Bosworth both of Port Allegany, Jeff D. Bosworth of Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Nancy A. Wilber of Smethport, Marjorie J. Simpson of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren: Nicholas, Jacob, Adam, Amanda, Kari, Michael, and Zachary; two stepsons, David (Sharon) Comes of Dalmatia, PA, Paul (Rachel) Comes, Jr. of Ft. Defiance, VA; three stepdaughters, Judy (David) Lowe of Eldred, Victoria (Richard) Bickford, and Virginia (Stacy) Lunn both of Smethport; 9 stepgrandchildren, 17 stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Carlton A. (Shirley) Larson of Port Allegany; four sisters, Betty (James) Redington of Randolph, NY, Donna Jewart of Pooler, GA, Lois (Vern) Howe of McCormick, SC, and Marjorie Burr of Bradenton, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Robert and John Larson; a son-in-law, Rodney Simpson and a grandson, Kurt Simpson.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday (Dec. 31, 2012) in St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Smeth-port, with Rev. Vince Cieslewicz, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
A scriptural wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
