Betty A. Warfle
STARKE, FL- Betty A. Warfle, 91, of SE State Route 100, passed away Thursday (Sept. 2, 2021) in her home.
Born May 1, 1930, in Smethport, PA, she was a daughter of Edwin E. and Lena A. Gage Warfle.
Betty was a longtime resident of Pennsylvania before moving to Florida 11 years ago.
She was a graduate of Smethport Area High School, class of 1950. She had been employed with Airco, Corp. (now KOA-Spear) of Bradford, and most recently had done daycare for several families in the area, before her retirement.
She was a member of the Port Allegany Alliance Church, where she was a church deaconess. She also was active in the Red Hat Society.
Surviving are a son, Dennis J. (Michele) Peters of Warren, PA; four daughters, Vanessa R. (Gary) Snook of Surprise, AZ, Michelle F. Mead of Murray, UT, Marlena K. (Steve) Sherwood of Port Allegany, Valerie M. (Michael) VanZile of Starke, FL; 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Peters of Farmers Valley, PA; a sister-in-law, Florrie Warfle of Bradford; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Paul D. Peters, three brothers, Norman E., Donald E. and Joel D. Warfle; and a sister, Sally J. Either.
Friends will be received from 11 am. to 1 p.m. Friday (Sept. 10, 2021) in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. Stephen Kroh, pastor of the Port Allegany Alliance Church, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park, Lewis Run, PA.
