Bert A. Tucker
ROULETTE-Bert A. Tucker, 72, of North Street, passed away Wednesday (May 25, 2011) at his home, after a brief illness.
Born October 1, 1938, in Roulette, PA, he was a son of Frank C. and Grace U. Harris Tucker.
Mr. Tucker had worked earlier as a logger and later with Pittsburgh Corning Co., Port Allegany, retiring after 35 years of service.
He was a lifetime resident of the area and attended Roulette High School.
He was a member of the Roulette Fish & Game Club and was also an avid outdoorsman.
Surviving are a daughter, Judi L. (Lee) Tucker of Roulette; three sons, Jeffrey A. (Roberta) Tucker of Coudersport, Jerry E. Tucker and Patrick R. Tucker both of Roulette; 7 grandchildren: Jennifer L. Tucker, Justin L. Tucker, Melissa J. Christie, Melissa D. Tucker, Jason A. Tucker, Devan M. Tucker, Chelsea R. Tucker; 5 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lois I. (George) Grossman of Roulette, Gladys A. Howard of Shinglehouse; and several nieces and nephews, and special friend, Betty Shalkowski.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, James L. Tucker, Paul A. “Boots” Tucker Donald F. Tucker, Robert L. “Brother Bob” Tucker, and Keith W. “Bill” Tucker; and five sisters, Mildred M. Griffith, Fern L. Griffith, Betty J. Lent, Marian K. Smith, and Edna A. Eaton.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (May 28, 2011) with Rev. H.D. Youngblood, Jr. officiating, Burial will be in Hill Cemetery, Roulette.
Memorials can be made to the Roulette Ambulance or Roulette Fire Department.
