Basil T. “Mutt” WORTHINGTON, 64, of Ulysses, PA, died Monday, August 22, 2022 following a long battle with cancer.
Born August 16, 1958, in Hornell, NY, he was the son of Robert Leland and Janice Onalee Lockwood Worthington. He was a 1977 graduate of Northern Potter High School. Mutt was a blue-collar guy who could do just about anything with his hands. He was a book of knowledge when it came to home construction. He worked many different jobs throughout his life including laborer at Eberle Tannery, carpenter, derrick hand, and truck driver. Mutt was skilled in many different trades, but what he was best at was being a father, brother, uncle, and a friend, who will forever be missed by the people who loved him. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and horseback riding.
Surviving are: his friend and companion of 38 years, Anne Marie Berry; two children, Christina (Bob Hauber) Lavoie and Zachary (Alyssa) Worthington; four grandchildren, Chloe, Chase, Brylee, and Tiernee; a brother, Robert “Bobby” (Sandra) Worthington, Jr.; two sisters, Pamela (Rick) Crippen and Cora Lee (George) Forslund; nieces and nephews; and great friend, Eric Malko. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant son, Reuben James Worthington.
A private graveside service will be held in Riverview Cemetery, Potter Brook.
