Anna M. LEWIS, 94, of Gold, PA, formerly of Ulysses, Galeton, and Danville, died Thursday, September 8, 2022 in her home.
Born March 27, 1928, at home in Cooper Township, Montour County, PA, she was the daughter of Joseph and Catherine Olshefski Scisly. Her mother died shortly after Anna’s birth and her father died when Anna was very young. She was raised by foster parents, Wally and Theresa Labosky. In 1947, she married Paul Sudol, who predeceased her in 1962. In 1980, she married Steven J. Lewis, who predeceased her in 1994. She was employed as a seamstress by a sewing factory, nurse’s aide and dietary aide by Danville State Hospital, union representative by AFSCME from 1973 – 1984, and laborer by Protektor Model in Galeton for five years. Anna and her husband owned and operated Lewis Motel in Galeton from 1984 – 1994. She was a member of St. Bibiana Catholic Church in Galeton. She enjoyed reading novels, doing puzzles, and loved to cook.
Surviving are: nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Jennifer (Jason) Ayers and Suzanne Boak. In addition to her husbands, she was predeceased by two brothers, Stanley Scisly and Joseph J. Scisly; two sisters, Mary Scisly amd Florence Zapalowski; and twin brothers, Michael Labosky and John Labosky.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 14, 2022 in St. Bibiana Catholic Church, Galeton. The Rev. Christopher Wheeler will be the Celebrant. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
